On Wednesday, 04 Jumada al-Awwal 1446 AH, corresponding to November 6, 2024 AD, the Emirates International University organized a solidarity stand with the Palestinian and Lebanese people, and in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance in defending its land, people and holy sites, under the title: "With Gaza and Lebanon, ready for any American-Zionist escalation."
The vigil, which was attended by the university president, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mufri, the secretary general, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, a number of deans of colleges, academic and administrative staff, and a crowd of university students, began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the Yemeni national anthem. After that, the participants chanted expressive slogans and slogans in support and solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance, raising banners of disavowal of the enemies of God and banners of boycotting American and Israeli goods, in addition to pictures of martyred resistance leaders.
In his speech during the vigil, the university president, Dr. Nasser Al-Mufri, stressed the importance of continuing to participate effectively in the marches and vigils in solidarity and support of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, supporting their just causes, and not being indifferent. He pointed out that this vigil comes within the framework of religious responsibility and in response to the call of God Almighty to support our oppressed brothers in Gaza and to denounce the crimes against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, stressing that supporting Gaza and Al-Aqsa is a duty for every individual and institution. Our support for Gaza, Al-Aqsa and Lebanon is not just a slogan, but a responsibility and a struggle that we must all bear.
After that, Professor Wassim Farea, the academic coordinator of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences, read the statement of the stand, which included: We praise the military operations of the Palestinian resistance factions that inflict heavy losses on the enemy, and we also bless the humiliating and painful operations of Hezbollah against the Zionist enemy, which thwarted its criminal plans and unjust attacks against Lebanon with all steadfastness and strength.
The statement also blessed the escalating and influential operations of the Islamic resistance in Iraq and praised the heroic martyrdom run-over operations in occupied Palestine. The statement added, saying: We congratulate our brothers in Hezbollah on the selection of His Eminence the Mujahid Sheikh Naim Qassem as Secretary-General of Hezbollah, succeeding the martyr of Islam and humanity, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and we reaffirm our support for Sheikh Naim Qassem and for our Mujahid brothers in Hezbollah and the Lebanese people.
In the statement, the participants stressed their support for their brothers, the Mujahideen, from the Palestinian resistance factions and the Palestinian people, with all we can, in confronting the Israeli enemy, adding: We emphasize our firm, faithful, and principled position, which the enemies have failed to stop or influence for more than a year with all their aggression and conspiracies. We also emphasize our readiness for any escalation or new conspiracies targeting our position, which we will not back down from, no matter the costs and risks.
At the end of the statement, the participants addressed a message to those who brag about peace, saying: He who is unable to protect "UNRWA" in Palestine and "UNIFIL" in Lebanon is unable to protect you and the peoples.
