 Today, Thursday, the University’s College of Engineering and Information Technology organized a symposium on “Cybersecurity trends,” the labor market needs in the field of cybersecurity. In the presence of the University President, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofari, the Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, the Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Dr. Jamil Rashid, the Head of the Information Technology Department, Dr. Adnan Al-Mutawakel, Dr. Hisham Aklan, a faculty member, and a number of faculty members and their assistants at the College of Engineering.

 

 The symposium, presented by Engineer Fadi Al-Aswadi, cybersecurity expert and head of the technical support department at CAC Bank, aimed to shed light on cybersecurity trends, specializations, courses, certificates, and required skills that employers are looking for in this field.

 

 At the opening of the symposium, the University President, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofari, stressed the importance of cybersecurity in light of the digital revolution the world is witnessing, noting that the university pays great attention to developing students’ skills in this field by providing specialized programs and courses and organizing scientific events and seminars.

 

 The university president indicated that this symposium comes within the framework of the university’s keenness to communicate with the labor market, know its needs, and meet them by providing it with qualified cadres in the field of cybersecurity. He urged students to take advantage of the training programs offered by the university to develop their skills and abilities, and acquire knowledge and practical experiences that qualify for the labor market.

 

 The symposium included a presentation that addressed various topics, including: the importance of cybersecurity in light of rapid technological development, the most important skills required in the labor market in the field of cybersecurity, the needs of the labor market in the field of cybersecurity, the latest technologies and solutions in the field of cybersecurity, and available job opportunities. In the field of cybersecurity, the challenges facing cybersecurity in Yemen and ways to overcome them.

 

 At the conclusion of the symposium, in which students from various departments of the College of Engineering participated (Departments of Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence), the discussion was opened for students to ask their questions to the lecturer and respond to them.
