The University President participates in the Information Technology Center Board of Directors meeting for the year 2023

 University President Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofari, member of the Board of Directors, participated in the 2023 meeting of the Information Technology Center’s Board of Directors.

 At its meeting today, headed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research - Chairman of the Council, Mr. Hussein Ali Hazeb, the Council discussed the Center’s performance and future plans.

 The meeting, which included the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ali Sharaf El-Din, and members of the Council, including presidents and representatives of public and private universities, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, discussed the report of the Center’s Executive Committee submitted by the Executive Director, Dr. Fouad Hassan Abdel Razzaq - Rapporteur of the Council. Management, including the achievements achieved during the period (July 2022 - December 2023) and the decisions of the previous meeting.

 The meeting, in the presence of the Undersecretary for the Educational Affairs Sector, Dr. Ghaleb Al-Qanis, the General Coordinator of the Ministry, the Center, and the Accreditation Council, Dr. Muhammad Dhaifallah, and the Center’s Advisor for Quality Affairs, reviewed the report on the activities carried out by the Center in the technical and programming aspect, and the modernization and development of systems concerned with automation and the exchange of information and data.

 The center’s achievements were also reviewed in accordance with the center’s strategic plan (2021-2025) and the national vision for developing sustainable information technology services in the higher education sector and developing a national research and education network to improve the quality of education in Yemen, especially with the trend towards artificial intelligence, smart environments, data science and cybersecurity challenges. .

 The attendees also heard a clarification from the Assistant Executive Director for Programmatic Affairs, Dr. Musa Ghurab, about the level of achievements in the electronic portal for coordination and unified admission in Yemeni universities, the academic records system for students, and the graduate studies portal.

 The meeting approved the committee’s report and the minutes of its previous meeting. The Council also recommended the necessity of adopting a national strategy for artificial intelligence in partnership and cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and agreeing to submit the lifelong education proposal to the leadership of the Ministry and the Supreme Committee for Coordination and Admission for the year 2024 AD.

 At the meeting, the Minister of Higher Education praised the role of the leadership and cadres of the Information Technology Center for their efforts and tangible imprints in implementing automation projects and digital systems, the achievements achieved in light of the current situation and with limited capabilities, the financial and network connectivity with the concerned authorities, the electronic portal for coordination and unified admission in Yemeni universities, and its role in addressing many issues. Problems.

 At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Sharaf El-Din, expressed his thanks and appreciation to those who attended and contributed to the development of the center’s level, wishing the center and its staff further success and excellence and the need for increased efforts from its members and relevant authorities to support its continuation and success.
