Today, Saturday, the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the university organized a scientific day for students of the Department of Human Medicine, which included a presentation of the graduation research for the second batch, in the presence of the President of the University, Dr. Najib Al-Kumaim, the Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Department of Medical Laboratories and a number of academics and administrators.
The President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, opened the scientific day’s event by welcoming the attendees from the Deanship of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, academics, administrators and students, expressing thanks and appreciation to the Deanship of the College, heads of medical departments and professors supervising students’ research and congratulating the students on holding the scientific day to discuss graduation research and distinguishing their research topics, stressing the importance of Research papers submitted by students. He wished the graduates further progress in the scientific and practical aspects.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, indicated that the goal of the scientific day is to provide the graduate students with the opportunity to present their ideas and touches of knowledge that they acquired during the years of study, and to present their scientific research. He stressed the importance of learning the scientific research skills of the university student, in addition to the clinical skills, noting that the scientific days organized by the university to discuss graduation research are one of the most important practical aspects for the student to acquire those skills and experiences that help him during his graduate studies.
The supervisory and discussion committees were formed from: a. Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, Dean of the College, Dr. Abdul Baset Al-Ghouri, Head of the Medical Laboratories Department, Dr. Muammar Badi and Dr. Ahmed Al-Shahdhi are external discussants and main supervisors of the graduation research.
Where the student groups presented their research that touched on health problems, diseases and epidemics such as the study of kidney diseases, Covid 19, hepatitis and the clinical skills of medical graduates, through visual presentations distributed on a number of important topics as follows:
1. Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practice of medical students regarding occupational risks of hepatitis B virus in faculty of medicine, International Emirates university, Yemen, 2022 Emirates International - Yemen - 2022 AD. Research Supervisor, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shahdhi, and the discussion committee, Dr. Muammar Badi and Dr. Abdul Baset Al-Ghouri.
2. Knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards COVID-19 among secondary school students in Sana’a city, Yemen 2022. Assessment of knowledge, attitudes, and practices of high school students in schools about the coronavirus in Sana’a city, Yemen, 2022 AD. Research Supervisor, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shahdhi, and the discussion committee, Dr. Muammar Badi and Dr. Abdul Baset Al-Ghouri.
3. Risk Factors for End Stage Renal Failure among Patients on Kidney Dialysis Center in Al-Thawra Hospital in Sana’a. Risk factors for end stage renal failure among dialysis patients in Al-Thawra Hospital, Sana'a. Supervised by Prof. Dr. Muammar Badi. The discussants are Prof. Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri and Prof. Dr. Ahmad Al-Shahdhi.

The committee commended the efforts made by the students and their supervisors in completing their research in a timely manner and for the scientific value of the research that rises to the level of postgraduate research.
