The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Emirates International University concluded its scientific day on Sunday, dedicated to discussing the graduation projects of the seventh batch of human medicine students. The two-day event was attended by distinguished academics and featured remarkable interaction from students and faculty members.
The final day witnessed the discussion of six scientific research projects, bringing the total number of research projects discussed to eleven, covering various fields in the medical sciences. These projects, as a whole, reflected the depth of the scientific and research background of the students in the batch and embodied the development of the college's academic educational programs.
In his closing remarks, University President Dr. Khaled Salah expressed his pride in the academic and research level demonstrated by the seventh batch of students, emphasizing that the presented research represents a model to be emulated by Yemeni universities. He said, "We conclude this scientific day with admiration and pride in the intellectual and medical excellence we have witnessed, and we renew our commitment at the university to supporting scientific research as a fundamental pillar in building physicians capable of serving their communities with competence and compassion."
Dr. Fouad Ismail, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, also noted that the university is steadily moving toward establishing an academic environment that integrates theoretical and applied education. He added, "What our medical students have presented today demonstrates that investment in scientific research begins from the classroom, and this is what we are working to enhance through our academic programs and plans."
In turn, Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, noted that the diversity of medical topics discussed by the students reflects the comprehensiveness of the University's Department of Human Medicine and its ability to graduate cadres with scientific and research skills. He praised the students' commitment and the supervisors' efforts in presenting these research projects to a professional level.
The submitted research featured contemporary and realistic medical topics, demonstrating the students' awareness of current health challenges and their efforts to contribute to providing scientific and practical solutions.
The submitted research was as follows:
The first group presented their research titled: The Prevalence of Caesarean Sections and the Factors Affecting It at the Mother Hospital, Sana'a, Yemen. The research was submitted by students: Asma Qiran, Qamar Masoud, Hanin Talib Al Nahdi, Sawsan Al Saeedi, Rana Zulfiqar, Rawan Ramez, Fatoum Al Shali, Hanan Hamid, Tahani Al Zaidi, and Marwa Muharram. It was supervised by Dr. Abeer Al Washli.
The second group presented their research entitled: "Characteristics of Neonatal Mortality in the Intensive Care Unit at Al-Jumhuri Teaching Hospital." The research was submitted by students: Malak Al-Kumaim, Sahar Al-Hanq, Manar Awfan, Lina Al-Moallem, Yumna Abdul Latif, Naseem Arma, Fatima Al-Yamani, Tahani Al-Dhabhani, and Nismah Al-Asbahi. It was supervised by Dr. Abeer Al-Washli.
The third group presented their research entitled: "The Level of Knowledge about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Lifestyle among Female University Students at the United Arab Emirates University." The research was submitted by students: Ibtihal Khalil Suleiman Khalil, Rawan Hussein Al-Masouri, Abrar Hassan Omar Suwaid, Umma Al-Malik Abdullah Ali Aoun, Umma Al-Ghani Mohammed Al-Maqdashi, Asia Khaled Ahmed Hassan Aziz, Maha Yaqoub Al-Shalili, Anwar Osama Mohammed Qasim, Shaima Mahmoud Abdul-Raqeeb Al-Qadi, and Aya Hassan Yahya Omar Malakdi. It was supervised by Dr. Abeer Al-Washli.
The fourth group presented their research entitled: "The Impact of Quality of Life on Menstrual Disorders among Women in Sana'a - 2025." The research was submitted by students: Hadeel Ahmed Al-Sharaji, Ola Khaled Al-Shaif, Maya Najib Al-Awadhi, Zainab Jamal Abu Sand, Rawan Ali Al-Maqaleh, and Duaa Ahmed Mayas. It was supervised by Dr. Noura Al-Awadhi.
The fifth group presented their research entitled: "Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Medical Students Towards Artificial Intelligence at the Emirates International University." The research was submitted by students: Qusay Taha Al-Nakhlani, Antar Yahya Muhammad, Najmuddin Bahya Al-Hajj, Ibrahim Saleh Al-Shafi, Abdullah Ali Muhammad Saeed, Ahmed Saif Al-Dhaheri, Muhammad Sadiq Saeed, Muhammad Jamal Abu Sand, Malik Muhammad Al-Zaqri, Rayan Adnan Abdo, and Najmuddin Ahmed Al-Shammari. It was supervised by Dr. Muammar Badi.
The sixth group presented their research entitled: "The Effect of Qat Chewing on the Academic Performance of Final-Year Students at the College of Medicine in Sana'a, Yemen, 2025." The research was submitted by the students: Imad Abdo Mohammed Al-Shaathmi, Yousef Ahmed Al-Buraihi, Hisham Ali Mohammed Al-Hajj, Mohammed Ahmed Hamid Al-Din, Fawaz Salah Mohammed Al-Hadi, Omar Ihab Mohammed Saeed Nasr, Aseel Mohammed Hamoud Al-Qadi, Ahmed Saleh Ali Al-Hudhaifi, Mohammed Abdullah Taher, Ahmed Majed Attia. The seventh group presented their research entitled: "Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Among Physicians in Major Government Hospitals Regarding Handling Cases of Abuse and Violence in the Capital Sana'a, Yemen" (2025). The research was submitted by students: Ali Tariq Al-Sayaghi, Suhaib Najib Al-Qabati, Abdulrahman Abdul-Moneim Al-Nimr, Abdul-Aziz Ahmed Haider, Ali Imad Al-Din Al-Mufarji, Diaa Ibrahim Al-Mazhani, Abdulrahman Younis Al-Saqqaf, Mustafa Abbas Amer, Abdo Muhammad Al-Malhani, Khattab Muhammad Mahyoub, and Asad Hamza Mahfouz. The research was supervised by Dr. Lina Al-Qalisi.
The eighth group presented their research entitled: "The Prevalence of Constipation and Its Associated Factors Among Medical Students at the Emirates International University - Yemen (2025)". The research was submitted by students: Abdulsalam Salem Haidara, Yahya Adel Al-Waqidi, Hazem Abdo Abdul-Wadoud, Nidal Abdullah Jawir, Amin Abdo Al-Barqi, Saddam Abdo Al-Taj, Burhan Al-Din Al-Hakami, Salim Muhammad Al-Marhabi, Arfaj Abdul-Rahman bin Ali, and Salah Al-Din Mahyoub. The ninth group presented their research titled: "Identifying Yemen-Specific Percentile Ranges for Early Childhood Development Stages and Comparing Them with International Standards: A Cross-Sectional Study." The research was submitted by students: Yasser Suwaisi Saleh Al-Qaini, Ahmed Abdul-Karim Al-Sharafi, Murtada Ahmed Hadi, Moaz Nasser Al-Jarafi, Hamza Abdul-Rahman Al-Mutawakkil, Ali Nasser Jameel, Najm Al-Din Qasim Al-Ghani, and Murtada Ahmed Hadi. It was supervised by Dr. Muammar Badi.
The tenth group presented their research titled: "Kindergarten Teachers' Awareness of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Symptoms in Sana'a City, Yemen - 2025." The research was submitted by the students: Abdul-Aleem Abdullah Ali Dana, Mubarak Adnan Abdul-Haq bin Sand, Mohsen Abdullah Mohsen Al-Asadi, Abdullah Ahmed Ali Al-Daghwani, Mohammed Ahmed Yahya Al-Sharabi, Abdullah Mohammed Ahmed Al-Kharbi, Mohammed Saleh Ali Saad Al-Shamhi, Mohammed Mohammed Saleh Ahmed Murshid, and Mohammed Fahd Ibrahim Al-Shami. It was supervised by Dr. Noura Al-Awadhi. The eleventh group presented their research entitled: "Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Students at the International Emirates University and Sana'a University Towards the Use of Electronic Cigarettes in Sana'a City - 2025." The research was submitted by the students: Saqr Ahmed Hassan Qasim, Mohammed Hussein Al-Masouri, Mohammed Najeeb Wahas, Hisham Abdul Malik Mansour, Taha Abdullah Al-Ammar, Shamikh Shaif Al-Qubari, Osama Badr Al-Karim, Mohammed Hamid Tallan, Ayed Nasser Badi, and Mohammed Hussein Al-Sudi. It was supervised by Dr. Noura Al-Awadhi.
