As part of its commitment to opening broader horizons for its students and linking academic knowledge with practical applications, the Emirates International University signed a memorandum of cooperation and partnership today, Sunday, August 10, 2025, with the Modern Pharmaceutical Company and the International Pharmaceutical Industries Company, two of the leading companies in the pharmaceutical industry in Yemen.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the university by the Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs and Secretary-General, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, and on behalf of Modern Pharmaceutical Company and the International Pharmaceutical Industries Company, by the General Manager of the company, Dr. Fahim Al-Khalidi. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Ahmed Al-Murtada, Audit Director, and Dr. Zakaria Al-Shuaibi, Human Resources Director at both companies.
During the signing ceremony, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs and Secretary General Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash emphasized that this partnership represents a strategic step toward enabling university students to acquire advanced practical skills in real-world work environments. He noted that the agreement will provide field training opportunities for students from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and its specializations (clinical pharmacy, laboratory medicine), as well as chemical engineering, mechatronics engineering, and other related programs. This will contribute to honing their skills and enhancing their readiness for the job market.
For his part, Dr. Fahim Al-Khalidi, General Manager of Modern Pharmaceuticals and International Pharmaceutical Industries, praised the role of the Emirates International University in providing the job market with distinguished talent. He emphasized that this memorandum will open the way for the exchange of expertise, student training, and joint research in the fields of pharmaceutical industries, laboratory analysis, and industrial engineering, serving the country's health and industrial development.
In addition to training university students, the agreement also includes special benefits for the company's members, including discounts when their children enroll in university programs. It also includes organizing joint workshops, specialized scientific lectures, exchange of expertise, and field visits to the company's factories and laboratories.
This step is part of the university's efforts to strengthen its partnerships with private sector institutions and expand the scope of practical training for its students. This will consolidate its role as an educational beacon that contributes to building qualified cadres capable of creativity and innovation in various vital sectors.
