The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Emirates International University organized a distinguished scientific day on Saturday, dedicated to discussing the graduation projects of the seventh cohort of human medicine students. The day was attended by senior academics and active participation from faculty members and students.
The scientific day was opened by the President of the University, Dr. Khaled Salah, who emphasized in his speech that this moment represents the fruit of continuous academic and scientific efforts. He expressed his pride in the level of research presented, which reflects the advanced training received by medical students at the university. He added, "We are proud that our student cadres are presenting research that addresses diverse medical issues with societal impact. This is evidence of the quality of education and the research environment provided by the university."
For his part, Dr. Fouad Ismail, Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized the importance of such scientific events in enhancing students' research skills. He praised the college's efforts in providing an appropriate scientific environment that supports research and innovation, adding, "We are working to develop the medical education system to keep pace with the latest international standards, and we are keen to ensure that our students graduate equipped with the tools for scientific research and analysis."
Professor Saleh Al Dhaheri, Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, expressed his pride in the academic level demonstrated by the students of the seventh cohort, explaining that the research presented varied and covered multiple medical fields, reflecting the comprehensiveness of the academic program and its ability to prepare promising medical professionals to serve the health sector.
The first day of the event, which was also attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Badani, Vice President of the University, and Professor Dr. Sadiq Abdul-Mughni, Head of the Department of Human Medicine, witnessed the discussion of five distinguished scientific research papers that addressed modern and diverse medical topics and received the approval of the academic judging committees. The program concludes tomorrow with the discussion of six more research papers by students of the cohort, within an interactive scientific track that encourages creativity and excellence.
Through such events, the Emirates International University seeks to instill a culture of scientific research and support its students in their academic and professional careers, helping them develop as competent doctors who contribute to the development of the health system inside and outside Yemen.
