In an academic atmosphere brimming with vitality and creativity, the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Emirates International University organized a scientific day to discuss graduation research projects for students in the Clinical Pharmacy (Pharm-D) program for the academic year 1446 AH (2024-2025 AD). The event was held on the college campus, with a distinguished presence of university leaders, faculty members, and students.
The inauguration of the scientific day was attended by University President Dr. Khaled Salah, who, in his speech, praised the students' efforts and creativity in addressing scientific issues with societal impact, emphasizing the university's commitment to supporting applied scientific research.
For his part, the University Vice President Dr. Ahmed Al-Badani expressed his pride in the quality of the projects presented, noting that the program's outcomes embody the university's vision of graduating qualified pharmaceutical professionals who keep pace with scientific developments.
For his part, Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Professor Saleh Al-Dhaheri, emphasized that the scientific day represents a fundamental milestone in the student's academic journey and an opportunity to present research before specialized scientific committees. Meanwhile, Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Dr. Mukhtar Al-Gharafi, explained that the project discussions represent the culmination of year-long research efforts, under close academic supervision and follow-up.
During the scientific day, which was also attended by Professor Sadiq Abdul-Mughni, Head of the Department of Human Medicine, six student research papers were reviewed and discussed. These papers addressed valuable and diverse scientific topics in the field of clinical pharmacy, reflecting the students' ability to link theoretical knowledge with practical applications, contributing to the development of health services.
The first group presented their graduation project entitled:
Identifying Medication-Related Problems and Associated Risk Factors among Stroke Patients Residing in Selected Hospitals in Sana'a, Yemen: A Prospective Study
The research was submitted by students: Osama Najeeb Al-Hajj, Hussam Nour El-Din Za'il, Munir Khaled Al-Akhram, Magdy Khaled Al-Akhram, Amjad Jamal Mansour, Bilal Yahya Ja'wan, Hafez Nasser Jabal, Dhiyab Hamoud Al-Tali, Imran Mohammed Al-Wainani, Ali Mohsen Al-Sharmani, Aseel Saddam Al-Dula'i, and Narmin Amin Al-Khalidi. It was supervised by Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Al-Gharafi and Dr. Abdullah Saadallah.
The second group presented their graduation project entitled: Evaluation of the Rational Use of Clopidogrel in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease (Yemen - Sana'a - Government and Private Hospitals).
The research was submitted by students: Nasser Mansour Amari, Mohammed Miftah Al-Omari, Nawaf Abdulghani Al-Qahif, Hamed Saleh Al-Winani, Nabil Mohammed Al-Fandi, Mohammed Sadiq Al-Aasri, Abu Al-Khair Al-Salahi, Hadeel Abdullah Al-Sanaani, Kifah Ali Al-Badani, Manar Ayoub Al-Tamimi, Marwa Abdul-Jabbar Al-Yousfi, and Ruqayya Abdul-Baqi Al-Mansari. It was supervised by Prof. Ali Al-Yahwi.
The third group presented their graduation project entitled: Evaluation of the Management of Preeclampsia and Eclampsia in Selected Hospitals in Sana'a, Yemen.
The research was submitted by students: Malik Masoud Ajlan, Shaima Adel Al-Sayyadi, Shaima Abdul-Moneim Al-Radaei, Shaja Taha Al-Marghmi, Mohammed Saeed Naji, Majida Faisal Al-Qadi, Uday Saddam Al-Mahshmi, Kamel Abdul-Aziz Al-Himyari, Ahmed Jameel Al-Sharifi, Hanan Khaled Al-Salhi, Intisar Zaid Al-Ansi, and Nour Mohammed Al-Basha. It was supervised by Prof. Mahmoud Al-Buraihi and Prof. Abdullah Saadallah. The fourth group presented their graduation project titled: "The Prevalence of Polypharmacy and Its Impact on Drug-Associated Quality of Life among Adult Patients Visiting Outpatient Clinics in Sana'a City."
The research was submitted by students: Mohammed Mansour Al-Jaradi, Hani Al-Kumaim, Adham Al-Mahshmi, Mohammed Al-Saeedi, and Malek Al-Droubi
Aouf Al-Atwani, Osama Al-Usta, Hashem Al-Raidi, Moaz Al-Shami, Ahmed Mansour Shaye, Mohammed Al-Hamidi, and Khaled Ali Jubeir. It was supervised by Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Al-Gharafi and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Saadallah.
The fifth group presented their graduation project entitled: "Attitudes Toward Seeking Specialized Psychological Help Among the General Public in Sana'a, Yemen."
The research was submitted by students: Ziad Ahmed Hussein Al-Attab, Abrar Fouad Ahmed Al-Salmi, Yaqoub Saeed Muqbil Al-Hamadi, Aya Ali Abdul-Jalil Abdul-Wahhab Al-Jabri, Muammar Murad Saeed Saleh, Mohammed Ahmed Ali Ahmed Qallalah, Samer Abdullah Mohammed Yahya, Walaa Hisham Mohammed Ismail Al-Nazili, Asim Mohammed Ghaleb Saeed Al-Sa'iri, Ghaida Yahya Saleh Miftah, and Ali Nabil Ahmed Al-Omari. The research was supervised by: Prof. Mohammed Kabbas and Prof. Mukhtar Al-Gharafi.
The discussion committee consisted of: Prof. Saleh Al-Dhaheri (external examiner); Prof. Mukhtar Al-Gharafi; and Prof. Mahmoud Al-Buraihi. The discussion took place in a festive atmosphere that expressed the university's pride in the level of scientific and research creativity of its students.
