The committee charged with updating the strategy of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the university started its work in accordance with the university’s strategy 2025 approved by the university’s Board of Trustees, represented by the Chairman of the Council, His Excellency Professor Sultan bin Obaid Al-Shaya, and in accordance with the university president’s decision to form the committee, by starting with practical steps to prepare and prepare for holding workshops to update the strategy. Today, Monday, the President of the University, Dr. Naguib Al-Kumaim, signed a consultative work contract with an expert in strategic planning and quality systems, Prof. Noman Fayrouz, to update the strategy of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the university. It is noteworthy that the agreement included the expert and the team assigned to prepare the strategy of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences emanating from the university’s 2025 strategy, which was previously launched at the beginning of this year, according to the steps followed, starting with defining the methodology, preparing and implementing workshops, and coming up with strategic directions for the college. The agreement also included providing the expert with the necessary advice and support to complete the review of the description of the academic programs in the scientific departments of the college, as well as supervising the completion of the review of the description of the academic curricula for the programs according to the standards and models of the Academic Accreditation Council and conducting self-studies in order to apply for national accreditation. During the signing, the President of the University had confirmed that updating the strategy of the Faculty of Medicine comes as a complement to the steps for implementing the University’s strategy 2020-2025 to achieve excellence for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in its three tasks: education, scientific research and providing health service to the community in a way that enhances the improvement of its outputs and services and its role in development in line with The highest international scientific standards applicable in the medical fields. The President of the University indicated that real success must be built on the foundations of strategic planning based on a correct and accurate understanding of the reality and available capabilities in accordance with the university’s strategy, which clarified the main directions adopted by the University, which were implemented with the support, supervision and continuous follow-up of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, who pays great attention to the development process to reach The university aims to excel at the local and regional levels.
