From Numbers to Decision Making: A Scientific Symposium at Emirates International University Highlights the Modern Transformation in the Accounting Profession

In a rich academic atmosphere that reflects the spirit of progress, the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences – Department of Accounting at Emirates International University, in cooperation with Marsal Al-Shabibi Auditing and Consulting Office, organized a distinguished scientific symposium entitled "Accounting in a Changing World: From Numbers to Decision Making," on Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025.

The symposium opened with welcoming remarks from both the Vice President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Baadani, and the Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Al-Kahali, who emphasized the importance of keeping pace with global transformations in the accounting profession and its pivotal role in supporting decision-makers and shaping the economic future.

The symposium was presented by Professor Marsal Al-Shabibi and Professor Abdullah Al-Saafani, in a rich academic presentation that combined professional experience with a future vision, highlighting the shift from simply recording numbers to analyzing and investing them as a strategic tool in the world of finance and business.

 The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Fahmi Al-Daqaf, Head of the Accounting Department, along with several heads of academic departments, a select group of faculty members, and students who actively engaged with the seminar's themes and insightful questions.

At the conclusion of the event, the university and the Marsal Al-Shabibi office were honored in recognition of their collaborative efforts in promoting accounting culture and connecting it to the realities and changes of the market.
