In an academic setting reflecting excellence and innovation, the Emirates International University witnessed the discussion of an innovative graduation project by students from the Management Information Systems Department at the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences. The project, titled “Yemen Traffic – An Electronic Traffic Management System,” was submitted as part of the requirements for a Bachelor's degree for the academic year 2026-1447 AH.
The project was the culmination of outstanding student efforts by Basem Mohammed Al-Hazmi, Mohammed Essam Al-Warafi, Ahmed Abdullah Al-Amir, Yousef Abdullah Al-Jal’ai, Ahmed Salah Al-Barihi, and Alawi Abdul-Rab Al-Sharif, under the expert academic supervision of Professor Safaa Al-Bahlouli and Dr. Mukhtar Ghilan, and in the presence of a distinguished panel of specialized academics.
The discussion committee consisted of a select group of specialized academics, including: Dr. Mukhtar Ghailan, Head of the Management Information Systems Department; Dr. Mohammed Al-Kholani; Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sabri; Dr. Ashwaq Al-Jaboubi; and Professor Safaa Al-Bahlouli, who praised the project's high quality and its advanced practical applications.
The project presented a comprehensive technological model that meets the demands of the digital age, aiming to develop the traffic services system in Yemen through a smart electronic platform that allows citizens to complete their transactions easily and efficiently, without the need for traditional complexities or overcrowding at traffic departments.
"Yemen Traffic" is based on providing a wide range of digital services, including: new vehicle registration, ownership transfer, issuing and renewing driver's licenses, obtaining replacements for lost licenses, inquiring about and paying traffic violations electronically, in addition to booking technical inspection appointments and verifying vehicle readiness before proceeding with procedures.
The team developed a user-friendly Android application, supported by a secure database and integrated with electronic payment gateways. This ensures fast transaction processing, reliable financial operations, reduced errors, and improved service quality.
This project exemplifies the high-quality output that Emirates International University strives to achieve by bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application. It empowers students to develop real-world solutions to societal challenges, particularly in the areas of digital transformation and smart services.
The discussion committee affirmed that the project reflects the students' high level of scientific and practical competence, demonstrating their ability to utilize their knowledge to develop systems that serve the community and keep pace with modern trends in digital management.
This achievement underscores the university's commitment to preparing a generation of qualified professionals capable of leading digital transformation across various sectors. It is fostered through a stimulating learning environment that fosters creativity and employs modern curricula focused on innovation and problem-solving.
