In a scene reflecting the pulse of the future and the spirit of innovation embodied in the minds of students at the Emirates International University, the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences witnessed the discussion of a unique graduation project by students from the Management Information Systems Department, entitled: “Your Distributor Application,” a promising step towards reshaping the wholesale distribution sector through smart digital solutions.
The project, submitted to fulfill the requirements for a Bachelor's degree, is the fruit of the efforts of a distinguished student team comprising: Mohammed Abdulmalik Al-Ruwaishan, Mohammed Khaled Al-Wajih, Mazen Mohammed Ghaleb, Ahmed Hisham Al-Ariqi, Ali Khalil Al-Aghbari, and Yousef Khaled Al-Qoutari, under the supervision of Dr. Ashwaq Al-Jaboubi, and with academic support from Professor Safaa Al-Bahlouli.
The discussion committee consisted of a distinguished group of academics, chaired by Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ghilan, Head of the Management Information Systems Department, and including Dr. Safwan Al-Shaibani, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Haddad, Dr. Fahmi Al-Daqaf, Head of the Accounting and Finance and Banking Departments, and Professor Samah Hassan. The committee commended the project's high quality and the students' demonstrated scientific and practical competence.
The project stemmed from a deep understanding of the rapid digital transformations the world is witnessing, where technology has become the primary driver for enhancing organizational efficiency and competitiveness. In this context, the students highlighted the wholesale distribution sector as a vital pillar of supply chains, which, in many aspects, still relies on traditional methods that are no longer capable of keeping pace with the complexities of the modern market.
“Your Distributor” was more than just a technical concept; it was a comprehensive vision to revolutionize the way wholesale distributors operate. This was achieved through a smart electronic application offering practical solutions, including order management, shipment tracking, product and pricing display, pro forma invoice creation, and inventory management. It also provided customized user interfaces for both distributors and customers, enhancing the user experience and improving communication efficiency.
The team drew inspiration from successful digital models in regional markets, such as the Sary platform, which demonstrated the ability of technological solutions to restructure the distribution sector and improve product accessibility. This reinforced the students' conviction in the importance of developing local solutions that meet market needs and address its challenges.
The project was distinguished by its scientific methodology, based on analyzing the needs of actual users and studying the challenges faced by wholesale distributors. These challenges were then translated into practical technological functions, truly embodying educational outcomes that are relevant to the job market and reflect its realities.
In this context, these high-quality projects reflect the exceptional educational standards at Emirates International University, which places innovation and practical application at the heart of its academic experience and strives to prepare graduates who are capable of making a difference, not just seeking opportunities.
“Your Distributor” is not just a graduation project; it is a testament to the passion and ambition of students who believe that the future is built on bold ideas and that digital transformation is not an option but a necessity. With each project presented, the conviction is renewed that Emirates International University does not merely graduate students, but rather future leaders capable of driving change and building a more efficient and sustainable digital economy.
