The President of the University participates in a workshop to analyze the current situation of the draft strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education

 Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, President of the Emirates International University, participated today in the work of the first workshop to analyze the current situation of the draft strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research 1444 AH - 1448 AH, 2023 AD - 2027 AD in light of the objectives of the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.

 

 The workshop, in which a group of strategic planning experts, presidents of Yemeni universities and deputy ministers participated, aimed to analyze the current situation of the Ministry of Higher Education in the context of preparing the strategy, through the matrix of distribution of focus groups on the axes of the internal and external environments.

 

 In the workshop, the Minister of Higher Education pointed out the importance of the workshop, in which a constellation of education experts in Yemeni universities participate, on whom the country relies in preparing development plans, visions and programs.

 

 Minister Hazeb considered strategic planning in light of technical and technological developments an inevitable necessity to move to organized work according to scientific and methodological foundations to ensure upgrading the quality of the educational and academic process and obtain outputs that meet the needs of the labor market.

 

 For his part, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ali Sharaf El-Din, pointed out the importance of taking into account the spatial and temporal variables and the circumstances that the country is going through when analyzing the current situation and making it flexible and the possibility of changing it and adding developments on the end of the aggression.

 

 He stressed the importance of learning about the internal and external environment, urging experts to take into account the relationship between the three parties to education, "general, technical, and higher" when developing the strategy.

 

 While the Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council - Chairman of the Strategy Preparation Committee, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, considered higher education the first line of defense in facing contemporary challenges and the locomotive of development. He stressed that strategic planning has witnessed, in recent years, a development in its models and methods, and it has become a methodological necessity and one of the options for higher education institutions in Yemen.

 

 In turn, the national expert, Dr. Noaman Fairouz, reviewed the methodology and work tools for preparing the higher education strategy in accordance with the contents of the national vision for building the Yemeni state.

 

 In addition, the work of the workshop began by distributing the participants into 11 groups to discuss 11 axes represented in “accessibility and demographic factors, justice, social and cultural factors, quality and internationalization of education, leadership and governance, organizational structure, legislation and laws, internal processes and organizational culture, human resources, finance and factors.” economic, infrastructure, material and technical factors, partnership and political factors.

 

 The workshop was attended by the Ministry's undersecretaries and assistant undersecretaries, the Executive Director of the Information Technology Center, Dr. Fouad Abdel Razzaq, the President of September 21 University - the President of the Supreme Medical Council, Dr. Mujahid Maasar, and representatives of the relevant ministries, authorities and institutions participating in the workshop.
