Professor Dr. Khaled Salah, President of the University, chaired the first meeting of the Academic Council for the academic year 1447 AH (2025-2026 AD) this morning, Wednesday, in the presence of the Vice President and the deans of colleges and academic affairs.

 

The meeting began with an opening speech by the University President, Dr. Khaled Salah, in which he emphasized the importance of early planning and serious preparation for the start of the new academic year. He emphasized the need to improve the quality of the educational process and strengthen the university's academic and research role, thus contributing to the achievement of its pioneering vision and mission.

 

 The University President commended the efforts made over the past years, emphasizing that academic excellence is no longer an option, but rather a necessity to keep pace with the demands of the times and the labor market. He called for: promoting the digital transformation of the educational process, raising the quality of academic and educational performance, promoting scientific research and purposeful student initiatives, and updating academic programs to meet student aspirations and the needs of society.

 

The University President pointed out that the student is the core of the educational process, and that we must all work to provide them with a rich, stimulating university experience that is relevant to their reality and future aspirations.

 

The meeting discussed several topics on the agenda, most notably the academic plan for the first semester, the approval of study schedules, a review of academic performance indicators, and mechanisms for improving educational outcomes. Proposals for developing academic programs and specializations to meet the requirements of the local and regional labor market were also discussed.

 

The need to adhere to the approved academic calendar was also emphasized, as was the role of academic departments in quality control, updating curricula, and enhancing the use of technology in education and assessment.

 

 The meeting resulted in a number of recommendations aimed at supporting academic development and achieving institutional excellence. These recommendations will be monitored by the relevant committees and submitted periodically to the university presidency.

 

This meeting falls within the university's efforts to enhance academic governance and build a stimulating and integrated educational environment that keeps pace with the rapid transformations in higher education and meets the aspirations of students and society.
