The Center for Development and Quality Assurance at the university held mini-workshops for the technical teams of the dental departments and medical laboratories concerned with developing medical programs, in the context of implementing the second phase of the project to review and develop medical programs at the Emirates University, which is represented in the description of academic courses, in the presence of the heads of technical teams, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shamy, head of the dental team, and Dr. Abdul Baset Al-Ghouri, head of the medical laboratories team. Where the teams were trained by the national expert, Dr. Noman Fayrouz, on the skills of describing courses, starting with the concepts and ending with the application stages and according to the agreed standards, as well as a detailed practical explanation of the description document according to the template of the Academic Accreditation Council and Quality Assurance. The terms of reference for the characterization process, which were approved by the advisory team during its previous meetings, were discussed, and the time period for completion was discussed and agreed upon according to what was planned. Naguib Al-Kumaim, the university president, concluded the training sessions for the two teams by praising the efforts of the technical teams, stressing the importance of the teams accomplishing their tasks according to what was planned and in accordance with the decisions and directives of the advisory team headed by the university president. The training workshops were attended by Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, assigned to act as Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Ms. Jamila Mahyoub, Head of the Strategic Planning Unit at the Center, Ms. Ibtisam Al-Majmar, Director of Academic Affairs at the university, and a number of academic, administrative and technical staff.
