The Department of Laboratory Medicine Organizes a Scientific Visit for Third-Year Students to the National Center for Central Public Health Laboratories

On Wednesday, the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University organized a scientific visit for second- and third-year students to the National Center for Central Public Health Laboratories. The students were accompanied by Dr. Hafez Al-Noud, Dr. Amira Al-Qudsi, and Department Coordinator Dr. Safaa Darwish.

The visit aimed to introduce the students to the various specialized departments of public health laboratories and their work mechanisms, achieving integration between the theoretical and practical aspects they receive at the university and the reality of general specialized laboratories.

The visit included the following departments: the Reception and Sample Collection Department, the Viral Disease Isolation and Diagnosis Department, the Bacterial Disease Isolation and Diagnosis Department, the Parasitic Disease Diagnosis Department, the Hematology Diagnosis Department, the Histopathology and Tumor Markers Department, the Food and Nutritional Products Department, the Blood Bank and Derivatives Department, the Central Laboratory Library, and the Molecular Biology and Disease Isolation and Diagnosis Technology Department. The students listened to a detailed explanation from the staff of the relevant departments about the workflow in each department.
