Today, Saturday, the University's College of Medicine and Health Sciences organized a scientific day for students of the Department of Human Medicine, which included a presentation of the graduation research of the fourth batch, in the presence of the University President, Dr. Nasser Al-Moufari, the University Vice President, Dr. Ahmed Al-Baadani, the University Secretary-General, Dr. Fouad Hanash, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Najib Al-Qobati, the Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Professor Dr. Saleh Al-Dhaheri, the Deputy Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sadiq Abdel-Mughni, Professor Dr. Abdul-Basit Al-Ghouri, Head of the Medical Laboratories Department, and a number of academics, administrators, and parents.
The President of the University, Dr. Nasser Al-Mofari, opened the scientific day event by welcoming the attendees from the Ministry of Health, the Deanship of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, academics, administrators, and students. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Deanship of the College, the heads of the medical departments, and the professors supervising the students’ research, and congratulated the students for holding the scientific day to discuss graduation research and the excellence of their research topics, stressing On the importance of the research submitted by students. Wishing them further progress in the scientific and practical aspects.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Professor Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, indicated that the goal of the scientific day is to provide the opportunity for graduate students to present their ideas and knowledge that they have acquired during their years of study, and to present their scientific research. Emphasizing the importance of learning scientific research skills for university students, in addition to clinical skills, he noted that the scientific days organized by the university to discuss graduation research are among the most important practical aspects of providing the student with those skills and experiences that will help him during his graduate studies and professional life.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Najib Al-Qobati, delivered a speech in which he praised the excellence of the UAE University and its educational programs and distinguished outcomes, especially the College of Medicine and Health Sciences. He also praised the efforts of the fourth batch of human medicine students and their distinguished research that dealt with important medical aspects, stressing the importance of this research in developing medical knowledge and providing scientific solutions to the health challenges facing Yemen.
The supervisory committees and discussion committees were composed of: A. Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Abdul Basit Al Ghouri, Head of the Medical Laboratories Department, and Dr. Muammar Badi, Dr. Noura Al Awadi, and Dr. Abeer Al Washli as external discussants and main supervisors of graduation research.
The student groups presented their research that addressed health problems, diseases and epidemics, such as the study of liver diseases, malnutrition, fetal deformities and viruses, through visual presentations distributed over a number of important topics.
The committee praised the efforts made by the students and their supervisors in completing their research on time and the scientific value of the research that advances to postgraduate research.
