The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the university organized, today, Thursday, a scientific day to discuss graduation research for students of the Medical Laboratories Department for the academic year 1445 AH corresponding to 2023-2024 AD. In the presence of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mufri, the Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Professor Dr. Saleh Al-Dhahri, the Head of the Medical Laboratories Department, Professor Dr. Abdul-Basit Al-Ghouri, and members of the discussion committees, Professor Dr. Walid Al-Dabai, Professor Dr. Hafez Al-Noud, and Professor Dr. Taha Al-Nasari. The public discussion was also attended by a number of male and female students from the department and a number of medical departments in the college.
The discussion included a variety of scientific research presented by the department's students, which addressed vital medical issues related to society. The research reflected the creativity and excellence of the department's students, and their efficiency in applying the theoretical knowledge they acquired during their years of study.
During the discussion, the university president, Prof. Dr. Nasser Al-Mufri, praised the presented research, stressing the importance of the role of medical laboratories in health care, and urged students to continue scientific research and development. He also congratulated the graduates on their success and wished them a bright future in their upcoming academic and professional lives. He also extended his sincere thanks to the department's staff and faculty members for their efforts in preparing and qualifying these students.
For his part, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Saleh Al-Dhaheri, stressed the importance of this discussion, which reflects the distinguished level of the university's graduates, noting that this research contributes to solving many health problems facing society.
The first group presented its graduation research entitled:
"The Diagnostic Value of Methods Used in Diagnosing Mycobacterium Tuberculosis".
The research was submitted by the students: Ammar Ali Al-Droubi, Mohammed Saleh Al-Sanea, Samah Ahmed Al-Mikhlafi, and Mohammed Hadi Yamani
Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Sailmi, Aya Nabil Al-Obaidi, Fatima Hamid Al-Naamani, Fatima Abdullah Dhabyan, Ummat Al-Rahman Mohammed Al-Dhamin, Shurooq Ali Al-Faqih, and Maha Mohammed Al-Jabali. Supervised by Prof. Dr. Walid Al-Dabai. The discussion committee was formed by Prof. Dr. Taha Al-Nasari, internal examiner, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Basit, external examiner.
While the second student group presented its research entitled:
"Patterns of hypersensitivity among Yemeni patients visiting the Medical Treatment Center in the city of Sana'a, Yemen."
The research was submitted by the students: Aya Al-Asouli, Ayat Al-Mashdali, Hanaa Al-Halak, Jawhara Babaeer, Iman Al-Gharbani, Duaa Al-Faqih, Hajar Hamid, Ghadir Al-Attab, Rasha Al-Qudri, Lulwa Al-Amiri, Walaa Sabouneh, Laith Al-Shaibani, and Sameh Al-Adeeb. Supervised by Prof. Dr. Abdul-Basit Al-Ghouri. Discussion Committee: Prof. Saleh Al Dhaheri, External Examiner, and Dr. Balqis Al Haribi, Internal Examiner.
The research of the third group was titled:
"The prevalence of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus among students of the UAE University".
The research was submitted by the students: Ummah Al Rahman Awad, Hiba Adnan, Buthaina Salam, Bushra Abaya, Rifida Fahd, Amani Al Khawlani, Balqis Salam, Alaa Mansour, Walaa Kawkabani, Afnan Mansour, Nasser Al Hussaini, and Imad Maqsaa. Supervised by Prof. Taha Al Nassari. The discussion committee: Prof. Saleh Al Dhaheri, External Examiner, and Prof. Hafez Al Noud, Internal Examiner.
