In the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Ghaleb Al-Qans, the advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Muhammad Daifallah, and the President of the Emirates International University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, the mini-committee emanating from the workshop for the preparation of standards for special accreditation for medical programs continues its meetings with the aim of completing the preparation of the medical standards document in accordance with the outputs of the standards-setting workshop Private accreditation for medical programs. A decision was issued by the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council to form a mini-committee headed by the Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the UAE University, Prof. Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, and the membership of Prof. Mulham Al-Jubouri, Prof. Dr. Saleh Bahaj, Dr. Abdullah Al-Khaliqi and Dr. Ali Abdul Karim Shaiban. The President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, congratulated the committee and its chairperson for gaining the trust of their academic colleagues, as well as the trust of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council, praising their efforts to prepare a document of standards for private accreditation for medical programs, noting that coming up with national standards constitutes the beginning of achieving accreditation for medical colleges in Yemen in line with Accreditation according to the international standards in force in this field. For his part, the committee members, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Minister’s advisor stressed the importance of developing a practical plan to implement the standards in public and private universities to ensure their application under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Academic Accreditation Council. It is worth noting that the workshop concluded on Wednesday, November 13, and was implemented by the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in partnership with the Emirates International University.
