The word mechatronics consists of two syllables, “mecha” from mechanics or mechanism and “tronics” from electronics or electronics. This means that mechanical products and mechanisms are equipped with electronic technologies and circuits so that their performance becomes better. Therefore, mechatronics specialization means the specialization that aims to continuously integrate mechanics, electronics, control theory, and computer science in designing products and manufacturing industries and improving and developing their performance.
Mechatronics engineering includes mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, control systems and data processing. Today, mechatronics systems have entered almost every device in our lives. They are found in washing machines, cars, sewing machines, and medical devices. It is also found in robots and various manufacturing machines. We find it in other advanced applications, such as in the automatic pilot in the new Air Bus A380, for example, or in the car’s electronic fuel injection system , ABS brakes in cars, and others. In short, mechatronics is a mixture of technology and software to obtain a better product. It is the future.
