Towards Renewed Academic and Research Leadership: A Coordination Meeting Enhances Performance Integration Between the College of Medicine and the Quality Center

In a move reflecting the ambitious vision of the Emirates International University to solidify its position on the map of Arab and international rankings, and under the generous patronage of Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, President of the University, a high-level coordination meeting was held on Monday morning, May 4, 2026. The meeting brought together the leadership of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and the leadership of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, reflecting a firm institutional commitment to academic and research excellence.

The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of academic leaders, including Professor Dr. Saleh Al-Dhaheri, Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Professor Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Professor Dr. Sadiq Abdul-Mughni, Vice Dean of the College, and Dr. Malfi Al-Qamish, Head of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the Center. A rich and fruitful discussion took place regarding prospects for developing the educational process and enhancing the quality of academic and research outputs.

 The meeting addressed a number of strategic themes that form the cornerstone of a qualitative scientific renaissance, most notably elevating the educational process according to the latest standards and transforming student graduation projects into rigorous, publishable scientific research, thus opening broader horizons for students to achieve creativity and scientific excellence. Innovative mechanisms for selecting high-quality research and directing it towards publication in accredited scientific journals were also reviewed, particularly the Emirates International University Journal, thereby enhancing the university's presence on prestigious scientific publishing platforms.

In the context of supporting research capacity building, the meeting emphasized the importance of implementing specialized training programs that contribute to honing students' skills in preparing scientific research according to modern methodologies. It also stressed the need to encourage faculty members to increase their scientific output and publication in peer-reviewed journals, thereby strengthening the culture of scientific research within the college and raising the level of academic performance.

This meeting is part of a series of coordination meetings led by the committee for improving the university's ranking regionally and internationally, within a strategic framework aimed at achieving integration among colleges and academic centers and creating a stimulating educational and research environment conducive to creativity and innovation.
