A Field Visit for Fourth-Level Laboratory Medicine Students to the Center for Allergy Desensitization Using Immunotherapy and Therapeutic Nutrition

This Thursday morning, the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University organized a field visit for fourth-level students to the Center for Allergy Desensitization Using Immunotherapy and Therapeutic Nutrition as part of the Diagnostic Clinical Immunology course. The students were accompanied by Dr. Taha Al-Nasari, a faculty member in the department and professor of microbiology and clinical immunology, and Dr. Hiam Al-Haidari, an assistant faculty member in the department.

The visit aimed to learn about allergy desensitization treatment techniques and procedures and to acquire practical skills in this field.

 The students were received by Dr. Yusra Ghilan, who accompanied them on a tour of the center's various facilities. She provided them with a detailed explanation of the concept of allergy, its causes and types, the important tests for allergic diseases and their procedures, the scientific basis for allergy desensitization, the various available treatments, expected success rates, potential side effects, allergy desensitization treatment techniques, and how to apply them. The students also learned about the nature of the center's work and the services it provides, as it is the only center in Yemen specialized in this field.

Dr. Taha Al-Nasari expressed his happiness with the visit of the laboratory medicine students to the center, emphasizing the department's commitment to providing students with the latest technologies used in diagnosing immune and allergic diseases. These technologies play a significant role in serving our Yemeni society and equipping students with skills that will benefit them in their professional lives and qualify them for the national and regional labor market, enabling them to provide distinguished medical services to patients.

At the conclusion of the visit, the accompanying faculty members and students expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Yusra Ghilan and the center's executive director, Dr. Mohammed Al Shaibani for their warm welcome, facilitating the field visit, and enabling the students to benefit from the center's expertise and capabilities.
