The Department of Human Medicine at the University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences organized, Monday morning, a scientific visit for the department’s second-level students, “first group,” to the Sam City water factory, as part of the environmental health subject courses, accompanied by the course’s professor, Dr. Abeer Al-Washli, and the department’s teaching assistant, Dr. Complete inspiration.
The visit aimed to link the theoretical aspect with the practical aspect, and introduce students to the stages of mineral water production and the quality standards that are applied to ensure its safety for human consumption.
During the visit, the students received a detailed explanation from the specialists and engineers working in the factory about the stages of water production, starting with pumping water from wells, through treatment and purification processes, and ending with water bottling, storage and distribution.
The engineers touched on the quality standards that are applied in the factory, which guarantee the safety and suitability of water for human consumption.
The students expressed their admiration for the procedures followed in the factory to ensure water quality, stressing the importance of this visit in providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to apply environmental health principles.
