Launching a blood donation campaign on campus for Thalassemia patients and hereditary blood disorders

The President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, launched a blood donation campaign on the university campus for the benefit of Thalassemia patients and hereditary blood disorders, which is organized in coordination with the Yemeni Thalassemia Patients Association, and in cooperation with the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research, the Academic Team and the University Student Forum. In the presence of the Vice President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Baadani, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Saleh Al-Dhaheri, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Ibrahim Al-Shami, the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Al-Kahali, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sadiq Abdel-Mughni, and the Head of the Medical Laboratories Department, Prof. Dr. Abdelbaset Al-Ghouri and a number of heads of scientific departments and a number of academic and administrative staff at the university.
During the inauguration, the President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, stressed the university's constant keenness to support such campaigns
Which embodies the values of benevolence and giving, and encourages students and university employees to promote the principle of humanitarian assistance and social responsibility. Pointing to the importance of donating blood, as it provides blood units for patients with thalassemia, genetic blood disorders and other patients who depend on blood transfusions.
The campaign included an examination of the donors, including employees, faculty members, and university students, before they donated, to ensure that their bodies were prepared for that, and to ensure their eligibility to donate.
During the campaign, awareness brochures were distributed about blood donation and its benefits. On its first day, the campaign witnessed a great turnout from the university's employees and students.
The campaign is scheduled to conclude on Monday, Rabi` al-Thani 6, 1444 AH, corresponding to October 31, 2022 AD.
