Ongoing Coordination Meetings Enhance Academic and Research Performance at Emirates International University

In a scene reflecting growing academic activity and renewed institutional ambition, Emirates International University continues to hold coordination meetings aimed at enhancing the quality of academic and research performance and consolidating its position in Arab and international rankings. This is part of a strategic vision led with keen interest and generous support by Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, President of the University.
In this context, an expanded coordination meeting was held on Thursday morning, May 7, 2026, bringing together the leadership of the Development and Quality Assurance Center with the leadership of the College of Engineering and Information Technology. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center and Head of the Committee for Improving the University's Rankings in Arab and International Rankings. Also in attendance were Dr. Ibrahim Farea, Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, the heads of the college's academic departments, Professor Dr. Malek Al-Jabri, Head of the Scientific Research and Publication Department, Dr. Malfi Al-Qamish, Head of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the Center, and the head of the college's Quality Unit.
This meeting is part of a series of coordination meetings held by the university to enhance institutional integration among colleges and academic centers, and to monitor the development of the educational process according to the highest standards of quality and academic accreditation, which will be reflected in the quality of educational and research outputs.
The meeting witnessed in-depth strategic discussions that addressed the development of academic program and course reports, improving mechanisms for evaluating academic performance, enhancing scientific research and publication in peer-reviewed journals, and working to unify the university's institutional identity on global academic platforms such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and ORCID. This will contribute to strengthening the university's academic presence and raising its international visibility and scientific impact.
Participants also discussed mechanisms for transforming high-quality graduation projects into publishable scientific research by identifying outstanding projects and providing scientific and training support to students in coordination with the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. This step reflects the university's commitment to building an innovative academic generation capable of contributing to knowledge production and research.
The attendees emphasized the importance of continued teamwork and enhanced coordination between the colleges and the Center for Development and Quality Assurance to achieve the university's goals in quality, scientific research, and academic rankings, in line with the university's aspirations for leadership and excellence.
These ongoing meetings reflect the commitment of the Emirates International University to building a quality-based educational and research environment that fosters innovation and sustainable development, enabling it to continue its mission of shaping a promising scientific future and solidifying its position as a leading academic institution locally, regionally, and internationally.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the attendees extended their sincere congratulations to Professor Dr. Fariq Al-Fahidi, Head of the Information Technology Department, on his promotion to the rank of Professor, wishing him continued success and further academic and research contributions.
