A scientific visit for the fourth-level students of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy to the BioPharm pharmaceutical factory within the pharmaceutical manufacturing course

 Today, Wednesday morning, the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University organized a scientific visit for the department’s fourth-level female students to the BioPharm Pharmaceuticals Factory as part of the pharmaceutical manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and drug analysis courses, in the presence of Dr. Mukhtar Al-Gharafi, Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, Dr. Nassim Tawfiq and Dr. Lol Al-Dhabhani, department teaching assistants.

 During the visit, the students got acquainted with the various departments and units, “productivity, control, laboratories, inspection, quality, warehouses, manufacturing machines and devices, analytical and quality control devices,” and other units and manufacturing departments affiliated with the company. Learn about the steps and stages of drug manufacturing, starting with the materials entering the warehouses and ending with their exit as a final product.

 The students listened to an explanation from Dr. Tawfiq Al-Borai and the specialized and concerned staff in the various departments discussed the work mechanism in each department, the production and development workflow at the factory level, the departments and production lines, the standards, quality and technology followed in all departments, the mechanism of control, stability and sterilization, as well as storage and handling of sensitive materials. At the level of drug production and the types that the company now produces.

 The students expressed their happiness with the visit, and considered it a useful and unique experience. They also expressed their thanks to Dr. Tawfiq Al-Borai and the management of the BioPharm factory for the warm reception and providing the students with the opportunity to learn about the various aspects of work in the factory.

 The visit comes within the framework of the university's keenness to harmonize the theoretical and practical aspects in the relevant specialized bodies, to provide students with more knowledge and practical experience and raise the level of their scientific and practical skills.
