The Oil and Gas program is offered in response to the growing demand from the petroleum industry for petroleum engineering graduates who possess the appropriate theoretical knowledge and practical experience to participate in the development of the oil and gas sector. The program focuses on integrating drilling, reservoir, and production engineering with the needs of the petroleum industry. The program was developed by a committee of specialized experts based on internationally accredited peer academic programs and meets the National Association of Accrediting Schools ) NARS ( ) ABET ( standards.
The program includes 56 courses distributed over 153 credit hours of theoretical and practical study. To implement the practical aspect of the study , eight specialized laboratories are available, using the latest technology utilized by oil companies. These laboratories include drilling and well completion fluids laboratories, cement laboratories, reservoir rock properties laboratories, fluid properties laboratories, a geology laboratory, a fluid mechanics and hydraulics laboratory, and a computer applications laboratory in the petroleum industry. In addition, the program offers e-learning services that help students make the most of their time
The program is implemented by a select group of faculty members and specialized engineers with academic and field experience in the extractive industry
