Mission and goals
To graduate well-qualified biomedical engineers recognized for their excellent scientific and practical capabilities, multidisciplinary and critical thinking skills, leadership in the local and regional marketplace.
1. Providing a firm foundation in basic engineering sciences as required by the engineering discipline.
2. Developing the education and training of biomedical engineers to a professional level in various related disciplines.
3. Providing general education courses that enhance student’s understanding of the economic, environmental, ethical, political, societal, and cultural impact of their engineering solutions and decisions.
4. Providing opportunities for graduates to develop and apply a range of skills, techniques and attributes essential for effective performance at work.
5. Producing highly-qualified national graduates of biomedical engineering prepared with the requisite skills, knowledge, understanding and personal attributes necessary to contribute effectively to their chosen profession and the development of the society.
