A Smart Platform for Organizing Weddings and Events: An Innovative Graduation Project by IT Students at the UAE University

In a scene embodying the spirit of innovation and digital transformation, the College of Engineering and Information Technology at the UAE International University witnessed the discussion of a unique and distinguished graduation project by a number of IT students. The project, titled “A Comprehensive Booking System for Events and Weddings,” is an applied project reflecting the advanced scientific level and technical skills acquired by university students in a modern academic environment that keeps pace with the demands of the job market and digital transformation.

 

The project was presented by students: Mohammed Ali Ahmed Ali Haider, Abbas Mustafa Wajih Al-Din, Mohammed Nashwan Al-Ruhani, Hatem Thabet Othman Rajih, and Mohammed Samir Al-Awadhi. It was supervised by Professor Dr. Malek Al-Jabri and Dr. Mohammed Al-Kholani. The discussion committee consisted of Professor Dr. Farouk Al-Fahidi and Professor Dr. Jamil Rashid.

 

 This project is part of the graduation projects submitted to fulfill the requirements for a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology at the College of Engineering and Information Technology. The team successfully designed and developed an integrated digital platform aimed at facilitating and organizing the booking process for events and weddings through a smart and unified system that connects clients with various service providers, such as venues, photographers, artists, and car services, within a professional and secure digital environment.

 

The project addressed one of the most prominent challenges facing the community in organizing events: the fragmentation of services, the difficulty of coordination, and scheduling conflicts. It achieved this by providing real-time availability and instant booking confirmation, ensuring a smoother, more transparent, and more reliable user experience.

 

The project also included the development of a smartphone application that allows users quick access to services, price comparisons, and easy booking management. This reflects the students' awareness of the importance of modern technological solutions and their role in developing community services and transforming traditional procedures into advanced digital experiences.

 

 The discussion committee commended the project's scientific and technical level, and the students' ability to utilize their academic knowledge and programming skills to deliver an innovative technological solution that meets community needs. The committee emphasized that such projects represent high-quality educational outcomes, reflecting the excellence of education at Emirates International University and its commitment to preparing technically skilled professionals capable of innovation, competition, and confidently shaping the future.
