Discussion of Graduation Project Plans for Information Security Students in Light of Digital Transformation Trends

In line with its ongoing commitment to enhancing the outcomes of technical education and keeping pace with cybersecurity requirements, the Emirates International University today discussed a number of graduation project plans for students majoring in Information Security. The discussions took place in an academic atmosphere that reflected the seriousness of the presentations and the depth of the technical vision demonstrated in the submitted projects.
The university president, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, attended the discussion sessions. In his address, he emphasized the growing importance of cybersecurity in light of rapid digital transformations. He commended the quality of the ideas presented and their relevance to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence issues, as well as the students' role in providing technological solutions that serve institutions and society.
The discussion was also attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Ibrahim Fara’a, and the Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Dr. Jamil Rashid, along with: the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, Dr. Mohammed Al-Alfi; the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Dr. Hani Damaj; the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Amri; faculty member Dr. Hisham Aqilan; and the department’s Academic Coordinator, Engineer Alia Al-Arasi. The diverse academic presence contributed to enriching the scientific discussion and providing constructive feedback on possible development paths for the projects.
The first group presented their project, titled “Designing an AI-Based Network Security Testing Tool,” prepared by students Asma Al-Hashdi, Fatima Al-Bashiri, and Mai Al-Hallali, under the supervision of Dr. Jamil Rashid. The project addressed the use of artificial intelligence techniques in analyzing security vulnerabilities and enhancing the efficiency of network testing systems.
The second group presented their project, titled "Integrated Security Agent System (ISSA)," a project submitted by students Osama Khaled Al-Jufi, Amer Amer Al-Matari, Hamoud Yahya Al-Humaidah, Ayman Amin Saeed, Suhail Hazam Al-Amashi, and Haitham Al-Khader Al-Hazbi. Supervised by Dr. Jamil Rashid, with the participation of assistant supervisor Mohammed Al-Shamali, the project focused on building an integrated, intelligent security system that enhances threat monitoring and response effectiveness.
At the conclusion of the sessions, the discussion committees commended the quality of the presented plans and the students' ability to connect theoretical aspects with modern practical applications. They emphasized that these projects represent a qualitative step towards preparing specialized information security professionals capable of efficiently and effectively addressing the challenges of the digital space, in line with the vision and academic mission of the Emirates International University.
