“Techno 1 Exhibition”: Student Innovations Integrating Artificial Intelligence with the Internet of Things at Emirates International University

With innovative ideas and a youthful spirit striving to shape the future, the College of Engineering and Information Technology at Emirates International University hosted the “First Technology Exhibition – Techno 1” showcasing artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) projects and solutions by fourth-year students in the Information Technology Department. The event was held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah.
The exhibition, held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, presented a vibrant display of creativity, blending scientific thought with practical application. Students showcased innovative models of smart systems and practical applications that address real-world needs in the fields of security, services, management, and smart technologies.
The event was inaugurated by the University Vice President, Dr. Ahmed Al-Badani, and the Secretary General, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, who expressed their admiration for the students' level of expertise in utilizing artificial intelligence to serve humanity and society. They emphasized that this approach embodies the University's vision of linking education with innovation and knowledge production. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Farea, the Head of the Information Technology Department, Dr. Farouk Al-Fahidi, and a number of faculty members and department heads, amidst a large student turnout that infused the event with enthusiasm and inspiration.
The projects showcased ranged from artificial intelligence (AI) applications and Internet of Things (IoT) systems to smartphone applications using Flutter, with students presenting practical innovations that serve various aspects of daily life.

All these projects were supervised by Engineer Muhannad Al-Mashriqi, Professor of Artificial Intelligence and faculty member in the department, who praised the students' efforts and creativity in transforming theoretical knowledge into innovative practical applications that serve the community and keep pace with rapid technological advancements.
The exhibition concluded with honoring the participating groups and taking commemorative photos, amidst an atmosphere of pride in the students' scientific achievements, which reflect the excellence and leadership of the Information Technology Department in shaping the university's technological future.
