Objectives

1)     Preparing and qualifying distinguished medical graduate with high efficiency in the field of laboratory medicine.

2)     Providing students with basic knowledge of the biomedical and laboratory sciences and applying that knowledge to deal with diagnostic cases.

3)     Providing students with the necessary knowledge to understand the impact of different life stages, gender differences, different lifestyles, psychological, social and epidemiological genetic factors and their impact on the spread of diseases and methods of prevention.

4)     Enable students to know the concepts necessary for preventive and diagnostic medicine and to diagnose medical problems so that they are able to apply the concepts in clinical and laboratory practice.

5)     Practice appropriate professional behavior with patients and colleagues, adhere to professional standards of ethical behavior, and work in harmony with one team spirit.

6)     Activating the partnership with civil society institutions and the relevant authorities locally, regionally and internationally to provide a stimulating and supportive educational environment, in a way that serves to enhance public health efforts and community safety.

               7)     Providing students with self-learning skills, using information technology, medical evidence and scientific research to keep pace with the developments of the specialization.

  Firstly, on my own behalf and on behalf of my colleagues in the department, I would like to welcome you to the electronic page of the Medical Laboratories Department at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Emirates International University. With its distinguished resources and competencies graduated from the most prestigious international universities, the department seeks to be an important contributor to national development in the field of medicine and health care since the inception of Emirates International University, where among its most important goals was its tireless pursuit of excellence and keeping pace with the great development in the field of academic education and the tremendous revolution in Methods and techniques for diagnosing and treating diseases, as well as in scientific research. From this standpoint - the vision of the program - the Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine program at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences began to achieve this vision by qualifying specialized graduates who are competent and qualified to participate effectively in this scientific and medical technology revolution in diagnosing diseases, methods of treating them, preventing them, and excelling in Medical education, health care, scientific research, and community service locally and regionally. The department teaches its students the theoretical foundations and practical applications in the various branches of laboratory medicine, using the latest teaching and training methods and applying the academic accreditation standards of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the national standards for laboratory medicine NARS , as well as in accordance with regional and international references. The student also undergoes a full training year - the internship year - which he spends in one or more of the university’s hospitals or specialized laboratories with the aim of enhancing his theoretical knowledge, refining his practical skills, and linking the theoretical aspect to the clinical application aspect. The program qualifies its graduates to work competently as assistant medical laboratory specialists and lays the foundation for their entry into the labor market in several fields in the public or private sector. It also enables them to carry out their work in research centers, regional and international organizations, and universities.
