Mission
The department’s mission is to provide a high-quality education in chemical engineering that prepares graduates for productive careers in engineering and related fields and for life as cultivated, effective members and leaders. In addition, encouraging creative activities in research for effective contribution to the development of the community and nation.
Objectives
- To provide the necessary knowledge and standard education and training in the field of chemical Engineering that prepares the graduates for a professional career in various types of managerial and technical professions.
- To provide students with the capabilities to apply this knowledge and think clearly, creatively, logically and originally when they design, analyze, program, build, and maintain engineering systems.
- To prepare graduates to obtain careers in various areas of chemical engineering including, petrochemical, petroleum refining, biochemical, pharmaceutical, water treatment, desalination, environmental pollution control, safety industries, mineral processing, advanced materials, and food technologies.
- To provide students with the opportunities to develop a sense of responsibility, life-long learning skills, communication and teamwork skills as well as agood understanding of professional ethics, global, economic, environmental, and societal issues related to the discipline.
- To engage in activities that ensures the future capacity of the staff and students to deal with technological and professional development.
- To contribute effectively to the development of the society and respond to the continuous development challenges.
- To encourage a stimulating academic environment for high quality research and development in chemical engineering that addresses current and future societal/technological needs.
