1. Provide architectural engineering education and distinguished academic programs in order to graduate highly qualified architectural engineers

2. Preparing educational and research programs that keep pace with modern scientific developments and applications in the field of architecture.

3. Preparing engineers with comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary in various fields of architectural engineering.

4. Encouraging academic excellence through effective support for faculty  staff, , administrators, and students to raise the level of human and material resources in the department in the fields of education and scientific research.

5. Establishing partnerships with relevant professional institutions locally and regionally to keep pace with the needs of the labor market, society, and scientific research.

Architectural engineering is one of the oldest engineering disciplines known to man. The monuments left by the ancient Yemeni civilizations of Sheba, Himyar, Ma’in, and Hadhramaut, the Pharaonic civilization, Mesopotamia, China, India, South America, Greece, Rome, and others, bear witness to the magnificence and creativity of the architect throughout the ages. From the houses carved into the rock, to the Temple of the Sun in Marib, to the Egyptian pyramids that  it is classified as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, to the Great Wall of China, passing by the Taj Mahal and hundreds of historical cities and castles spread all over the world . Architecture has evolved over time, as humans have sought to make buildings compatible with the environment in which they live, by exploiting the space and local building materials to suit the climate and surrounding environment . About 200 years ago, architecture became an independent branch taught at universities around the world, and studying architecture became a dream for students who wanted to pursue this unique specialization . The Department of Architecture at Emirates International University is a distinguished department that provides a suitable learning environment for all students.
