College of Dentistry Concludes Specialized Training Course for Fourth-Year Students in the Fundamentals of Surgical Suturing in Oral Surgery

As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing the practical aspect and raising the level of clinical training for its students, the College of Dentistry at the United Arab Emirates University concluded a specialized training course entitled "Fundamentals of Surgical Suturing in Oral Surgery" for fourth-year students. The course was held on campus with active participation and outstanding engagement from the dental students.

The course, presented by Dr. Ahmed Al-Ashwal, aimed to equip students with the essential and precise skills in surgical suturing techniques used in oral surgery. This was achieved through a safe, practical training environment that simulates clinical scenarios and contributes to building the trainees' professional confidence.

The training program included comprehensive scientific and practical content, covering the types of surgical needles and sutures and their indications, along with intensive practical training in various surgical suture types. The course also addressed the principles of post-susturing wound care and methods for avoiding potential complications.

 The students demonstrated a remarkable level of commitment and skill during the practical application, successfully mastering the fundamentals of surgical suturing, thus enhancing their readiness for clinical work with confidence and high competence.
