In a remarkable achievement that reflects the Emirates International University's commitment to the highest standards of academic quality, the university has obtained national program accreditation for a number of its academic programs by the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The accreditation was announced during an event organized by the Academic Accreditation Council at the Council's headquarters, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Professor Hassan Abdullah Al-Saadi; the Deputy Minister, Professor Hatem Al-Dais; the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ibrahim Luqman; the Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council, Professor Ahmed Al-Haboub; the Secretary-General of the Council, Professor Mohammed Daifallah; and the leaders of the Ministry and the Accreditation Council.
The programmatic academic accreditation certificates and shields were received by the university president, Dr. Khaled Salah; the university vice president, Dr. Ahmed Al-Badani; the acting vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash; the dean of quality; the deans of colleges; and the heads of departments.
At the announcement ceremony, the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Professor Hassan Al-Saadi, congratulated the Emirates University for obtaining the national programmatic accreditation certificate for the programs of "Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, International Business Administration, and Information Technology." He praised its role in developing and improving the educational process to keep pace with changes and market needs.
He emphasized the commitment to encouraging all universities to make further efforts to improve their standing in order to obtain national programmatic academic accreditation, as this is the minimum requirement for advancing the level of educational processes at universities. He explained that programmatic academic accreditation represents a qualitative leap and addition to the university, improving its performance in the administrative fields, student affairs, and the educational process to ensure the quality of outcomes.
Deputy Minister Dr. Hatem Al-Dais highlighted the efforts of the Emirati University in the process of continuous development since its inception. He noted that the university was the first in Yemen to develop, launch, and publicly announce its strategy, enabling everyone to benefit from it. This strategy, he said, particularly in terms of diagnosing the current situation and transforming the weaknesses and difficulties it faced into strengths and attractive factors for achieving leadership and academic excellence.
He emphasized that the university is making confident strides toward academic leadership and excellence, calling for preserving the achievements made during the era of previous leaders, continuing to develop them, and moving them toward international accreditation.
Professor Ahmed Al-Haboub, Chairman of the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance, emphasized that academic program accreditation is a national obligation and a strategic priority, followed by global recognition. He pointed out that all universities around the world seek academic accreditation to enhance their academic reputation, scientific standing, and developmental roles.
The Secretary-General of the Council, Professor Dr. Mohammed Daifallah, noted that today marks the announcement of a new batch of academic program accreditation results, which has long been a dream for everyone, especially universities, and has now become a reality. He emphasized that the accreditation process was conducted professionally, documented, and accessible to all. He added that accreditation is the true beginning of ensuring the continuity and proper improvement of the educational process, ensuring quality outcomes tailored to the needs and specifications of the labor market.
In his speech during the honoring ceremony, Dr. Khaled Salah, President of the University, expressed the University's pride in this national academic achievement, emphasizing that obtaining national program accreditation for a number of the University's programs embodies the University's vision and mission to provide quality education that meets national and international standards.
The University President indicated that this accreditation is not the end of the road, but rather a milestone in a long journey of serious and ongoing institutional work. It is the fruit of the integrated efforts of the University's leadership and its academic and administrative staff, with generous support from the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, the Academic Accreditation Council, and the Ministry of Higher Education.
The University President emphasized the University leadership's commitment to continuing the accreditation process for the remaining university programs and promoting a culture of quality as a consistent approach adopted by the University. This ensures the provision of competitive educational outcomes that meet the needs of the labor market and contribute to building our beloved nation.
The University President also addressed the achievements and developments witnessed by the University in medical and engineering laboratories, equipment, infrastructure, and the expansion of classrooms, all in line with the requirements and standards for obtaining national programmatic accreditation in the aforementioned specializations.
He noted the level of cooperation and partnership between the University, the Higher Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, the Academic Accreditation Council, and all the committees that have worked throughout the past period to reach this pivotal stage, which has culminated in the University obtaining national programmatic accreditation for three programs: Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, International Business Administration, and Information Technology.
This national accreditation is a strategic step in the university's path to leadership, and is part of the ongoing process of applying for other programs. It also underscores the university's commitment to implementing accreditation and quality standards, ensuring competitive educational outcomes and providing its students with high academic and professional confidence both inside and outside Yemen.
