In an academic scene reflecting the maturity of the educational experience and the excellence of its outcomes, the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences at the Emirates International University witnessed the discussion of a unique graduation project by students in the International Business Administration Department – English Section. The project, titled "The Impact of Remote Work on Employee Productivity – A Case Study of Shifa Pharmaceutical Industries," reaffirms that the university does not merely impart knowledge, but also cultivates researchers capable of addressing contemporary issues and offering practical, scientific solutions.
The project was presented by students: Haima Adel Saif, Ruba Mohammed Najib, Raghad Salah Abdulrahman, Renad Ahmed Omar, Maryam Abdulrahim Basalma, and Thanaa Abdulkarim Mohammed, under the distinguished academic supervision of Professor Safaa Mohammed Al-Shaibani. The discussion committee included a select group of specialized academics: Dr. Emad Al-Ramada (external examiner) and Dr. Abdullah Al-Qurashi.
The study addressed one of the most significant recent transformations in the business environment: remote work. The students sought to analyze the impact of its implementation—whether full-time, partial, or on-demand—on employee productivity in the pharmaceutical industry. The study employed a rigorous scientific methodology using modern statistical analysis tools via SPSS software, reflecting the advanced academic qualifications of the students.
The results demonstrated a statistically significant positive impact of implementing remote work policies on employee productivity, reinforcing the importance of adopting this management style in modern organizations. The study also yielded practical recommendations, most notably the necessity of providing the required technological infrastructure and technical support, along with developing precise scientific mechanisms for measuring productivity in flexible work environments.
This project is not merely academic research; it embodies high-quality educational outcomes that reflect the university's vision of preparing qualified individuals capable of keeping pace with global transformations and confidently and efficiently leading change in the labor market.
What the students presented today sends a clear message: university education extends beyond the classroom, making a real difference in the business environment and society, and cultivating a generation of innovative leaders capable of transforming challenges into opportunities for success. #EmiratesInternationalUniversity
