Accounting Students Visit the Central Organization for Control and Auditing to Enhance Their Practical Knowledge

As part of the Emirates International University's efforts to connect theoretical aspects with practical applications, third-year accounting students conducted a field visit on Sunday to the Central Organization for Control and Auditing, the supreme authority responsible for protecting public funds and monitoring the financial and administrative performance of state institutions.
The students were welcomed by a number of the organization's staff, led by Dr. Abdul Rahim Sinan, who gave a comprehensive introductory presentation on the organization's origins, development, and oversight roles in safeguarding public funds and ensuring effective financial and administrative performance across the country.
The visit program included a detailed explanation of the organization's organizational structure and specialized oversight sectors. The students learned about:
• The Economic Sector Units Oversight Sector (Public and Mixed): Responsible for reviewing the performance of economic institutions and their compliance with financial standards.
• The Administrative Sector Units Oversight Sector: Responsible for monitoring ministries and government agencies and the implementation of public budgets.
• The Administrative Units Control Sector in the Governorates: This sector monitors the performance of local councils and the use of financial allocations in accordance with approved plans.
• The Financial, Administrative, and Technical Affairs Sector: This sector is responsible for human resources, internal affairs, and institutional development within the agency.
The students praised the high level of professionalism they witnessed during the visit. Information was presented in a simplified and professional manner, helping them understand the nature of oversight work and its importance in promoting transparency and accountability in state institutions.
This visit is part of a series of practical activities organized by the Accounting Department, with the aim of honing students' skills and enhancing their understanding of the pivotal role played by oversight bodies in building a national economy based on the principles of integrity and efficiency.
