The Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education conducted a field visit by a team of external reviewers to the Emirates International University this morning, Monday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 14, 1446 AH (corresponding to May 12, 2025 AD). This visit is part of the procedures for obtaining programmatic accreditation for the International Business Program.
At the beginning of the visit, an official meeting was held, chaired by Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Haboub, Chairman of the Council, and attended by Professor Dr. Mohammed Daifallah, Secretary General of the Council; Dr. Nasser Al-Muwafari, President of the University; Dr. Ahmed Al-Badani, Vice President of the University; and Dr. Fouad Hanash, Secretary General of the University.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Haboub emphasized that this field visit is the first of its kind at the Emirates International University after completing the program accreditation requirements. He emphasized the importance of this procedure in verifying the evidence and testimonials provided and ensuring their consistency with the actual implementation, in accordance with the Program Accreditation Procedures Manual. He also expressed his best wishes to the team of external reviewers, headed by Professor Zayed Al-Shawash, and including Dr. Mohammed Al-Ashwal and Dr. Imad Al-Ramada, as well as to the Council's team of experts, including Professor Naaman Fayrouz, Dr. Huda Al-Sanhani, Director General of Accreditation, Dr. Hussein Hanash, Director of the Internal Audit Department, and the media team.
For his part, Dr. Mohammed Daifallah explained that the field visit comes after the university has fulfilled the self-assessment requirements and submitted the program files. He also emphasized the program's initial review phase, followed by the submission of the initial report to the Council, and then setting a date for the field visit.
The head of the external review team, Dr. Zayed Al-Shawish, also reviewed the work plan for the three-day visit, explaining that the academic standards were distributed over specific timescales to ensure comprehensive evaluation.
The university president, Dr. Nasser Al-Mufri, welcomed the review team, emphasizing that the university was the first to submit accreditation files to the council and worked to meet academic accreditation requirements in accordance with the approved standards. He praised the council's efforts to support and develop the quality of higher education.
The field visit program included a number of meetings with representatives of the academic standards committee, followed by a field visit that included classrooms, the library, lecture halls, the Student Affairs Department, and the control room, to verify the infrastructure and educational facilities.
It is worth noting that the review team will continue its work over the next two days until all steps of the field visit plan are completed.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Dr. Mohammed Al-Kamali, Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Fahmi Al-Daqqaf, Program Coordinator, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qurashi, Head of the Department of International Business Administration, and a number of academics and university staff.
